Dr. Bryan C. West

D.P.M., FACFAS., CWS

Biography

Dr. West graduated from the University of Akron with the highest honor, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He attended medical school at Kent State University Medical School College of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated with the 2nd highest GPA in his class. Upon graduation, he was 1 of 2 fellow doctors inducted into the Pi Delta National Honor Society. He completed his surgical residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Michigan, and was named Chief Resident during his training.

Dr. West is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and has a special interest in traumatic Achilles tendon ruptures, diabetic foot salvage, foot and ankle surgery, and advanced wound care techniques. Dr. West is trained in several endoscopic surgical procedures as well as laser surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and a Certified Wound Specialist by the American Board of Wound Management. He has been published in the American Journal of Podiatric Medicine, received a prestigious Attending Physician of the Year award from the St. John Providence Residency Program, and enjoys teaching new resident physicians.

Dr. Indira Muharemovic

Biography

Dr. Muharemovic was born in Herzegovina, Bosnia and moved to Michigan with her family at the age of eight. From a young age, she was determined to become a physician. She pursued her undergraduate studies at Wayne State University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. During her time at Wayne State, she dedicated much of her spare time volunteering at the Detroit Medical Center, setting the goal to one day return there as a resident physician.

In 2011, Dr. Muharemovic attended Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL, where she earned her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree. Following medical school, she was accepted into one of the top podiatric surgery and medicine programs at the Detroit Medical Center. There, she received extensive training in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction, traumatology, sports medicine, and limb salvage.

Dr. Muharemovic served as Chief Resident during her senior year of training and is double board-certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery in both foot and rearfoot surgery.

Her practice philosophy centers on providing exceptional care that is tailored to the unique needs of each patient. Dr. Muharemovic believes strongly in the partnership between physician and patient, working together to achieve the common goal of optimal health.

As a committed professional, Dr. Muharemovic stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in foot and ankle surgery to ensure her patients receive the best possible care. Outside of her professional life, she enjoys spending time outdoors, traveling, and being with her family.

Dr. Daria Gutkin

Biography

Dr. Daria Gutkin was born in Moscow, Russia and immigrated to the United States when she was a child. She attended Wayne State University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree, and from there attended Kent State College of Podiatric Medicine, where she received her Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree.

Dr. Gutkin is passionate about caring for people of all backgrounds. She completed her residency training at Mercy Health in Cleveland, Ohio, where she trained in the Cleveland Clinic, Metro Health, and Veterans Affairs hospital systems.

Dr. Gutkin is experienced in treating a variety of conditions from diabetic foot care to trauma. She has had two academic posters detailing nuanced surgical treatment of podiatric conditions, which were presented at the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgery yearly conference.

She is fluent in both English and Russian and is excited to help get patients back on their feet.

Dr. Marianne Carney

D.P.M

Biography

Dr. Marianne Carney is a Michigan native, growing up in metro Detroit. She attended Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science. Prior to attending podiatry school, Dr. Carney worked in a physical therapy office as a PT tech and at Hansons Running Shop, where she learned about supportive shoe gear. She then went on to Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science in Chicago, IL where she earned her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine.

Dr. Carney then went on to do her residency at Ascension Macomb Hospital (now Henry Ford Warren Campus). She received extensive training in forefoot and rearfoot reconstruction surgeries, trauma, wound care, diabetic foot care, and sports medicine. Following her residency, she moved down to Indianapolis, IN to complete her Fellowship at the Foot and Ankle Institute. During her time as a fellow, she continued to hone her surgical skills.

Dr. Carney was excited to return to her home state to start as an attending. She believes that each patient should be treated in an individual manner and understands that no two patients are the same. Her goal is to truly listen to the patient and work together to create a treatment plan. She enjoys being in the OR doing surgery and being in clinic with patients.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends and her pup, Wally. Dr. Carney is an avid runner who enjoys running marathons, half marathons, and attending several local running clubs. She also likes to travel and hike.
