Biography
Dr. West graduated from the University of Akron with the highest honor, Summa Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He attended medical school at Kent State University Medical School College of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated with the 2nd highest GPA in his class. Upon graduation, he was 1 of 2 fellow doctors inducted into the Pi Delta National Honor Society. He completed his surgical residency at Genesys Regional Medical Center in Michigan, and was named Chief Resident during his training.
Dr. West is board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, and has a special interest in traumatic Achilles tendon ruptures, diabetic foot salvage, foot and ankle surgery, and advanced wound care techniques. Dr. West is trained in several endoscopic surgical procedures as well as laser surgery. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Podiatric Surgery, a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, and a Certified Wound Specialist by the American Board of Wound Management. He has been published in the American Journal of Podiatric Medicine, received a prestigious Attending Physician of the Year award from the St. John Providence Residency Program, and enjoys teaching new resident physicians.
